Samuel Matuszek is one of the current Youth Ministry Worker for the Sandhurst Diocese. Born and raised in a Catholic family near Hobart in Tasmania, Samuel is one of nine children. He attended Margate Primary School, was Home Schooled for his High School years, then attended Hobart College for grades 11 & 12.

He enjoys Polish folk dancing, spending time with friends and family, bush walking and watching a good movie.

Samuel has been involved in the Catholic community from the start. His involvement in the church consisted mainly of alter serving from a young age, helping to establish and run a youth group in his local parish, and assisting in running programs such as Alpha.

He spent 5 months on the Immaculata Long-term Mission School, which involved spiritual and faith formation, running youth groups and retreats, and helping out with parishes.

Through an encounter with God’s love and forgiveness at a retreat, he was able to find a new freedom in life to be able to live and understand his faiths deeper meaning. It is from this experience that he hope to help others come to understand the meaning and purpose of their lives and God’s endless love for them.
