Nathan joins the diaconate

Nathan Verallo was ordained to the diaconate for the Sandhurst Diocese in the Philippines on Sunday, September 23.
The ceremony was supported by Nathan's family and friends in the Philippines, as well as Shepparton Parish Priest, Fr Joe Taylor, and St Kilian's Bendigo Priest-in-residence, Fr Paul Purcell.
A group of Catholic Education Sandhurst staff and some teachers from across the Diocese also attended the ordination.
Deacon Nathan was ordained at the Cebu Archdiocesan Shrine of San Pedro Calungsod by his uncle, Auxiliary Bishop of Cebu Most Rev. Dennis Cabanada Villarojo, during Mass presided by Archbishop of Cebu, Most Rev. Jose S. Palma.
Deacon Nathan will be ordained to the priesthood in the Sandhurst Diocese on Saturday, November 24, at 11am at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bendigo.
Until his ordination, Nathan will continue to minister as a deacon in Shepparton where his first Mass will also be celebrated on Sunday, November 25.
