Statement from Bishop Leslie Tomlinson - Response to the conviction of Cardinal Pell - Media Release 25th February, 2019

Statement from Bishop Leslie Tomlinson – re Response to the conviction of Cardinal Pell

I fully note the outcome of the most recent court proceedings regarding Cardinal George Pell.

I again offer my prayers and condolences to survivors and their families who are experiencing distress during the ongoing public examination of abuse in the Church.

The full process of the law is yet to be concluded regarding Cardinal George Pell as we are aware that he is making an appeal against his conviction.

There will be no further comment until the conclusion of the Cardinal’s appeal.
