Catholic Earthcare: Seven questions to guide reflection on integral ecology

Pope Francis’ plan encompasses seven sectors in the community: families, dioceses, schools, universities, hospitals/health care centres, business/agricultural farms and religious orders. He outlined seven Laudato Si’ goals or ways of measuring ecology in the spirit of Laudato Si’.

Catholic Earthcare’s questions provide a way of framing/guiding thoughts and actions to engage with the world today. There are two sets of questions, one for individuals, the other for groups. There are then three examples of further questions you might ask, based on three different events: one relating to an event that invites ecological conversion, another for footprint reduction and a third for raising a prophetic voice. No list of questions is exhaustive; they are designed to stimulate thinking.

Caritas: Reflection Cards

Caritas has also produced a set of Reflection Cards which can be used either together or independent of the above resource. These are beautifully presented and could actually be printed as posters.

We have a diocesan Zoom event coming up to talk about what we, and our parishes are, and can be, doing in this space – see below. The above could add significantly to your discussion and planning.
