SYM First Partnership Consultation

Sandhurst Youth Ministry aims to Empower Leaders through Partnership Consultation.

As part of our ongoing commitment to listening, dialogue, and shared discernment, Sandhurst Youth Ministry is hosting a series of ’Partnership Consultation Sessions’ across the Diocese.   These sessions follow on  from the success of the Sandhurst Pilgrimage to ACYF 2025 and aim to empower leaders in schools and parishes, together with young people across the Diocese, to work in partnership, develop a shared vision for Mission, and take responsibility for Youth Ministry within their local contexts.

The first Session was held on 27 March at Holy Rosary, White Hills and brought together participants from Marist College, and the parishes of White Hills, Kennington Parish, Eaglehawk Parish and the Cathedral Cluster.

This session highlighted several important themes, including faith and awareness, accompaniment and relationships, mentorship and leadership formation, prayer and encounter, school-parish connection, questions and also challenges or limitations.

Participants valued the chance to be heard and to contribute to the future direction of this important work. These conversations continue to strengthen partnerships across the Diocese and remind us of the value of walking together as a faith community.

The consultation journey will continue with three upcoming sessions:

• 6 May at St Mary’s Parish, Echuca

• 15 May at the Monsignor Peter Jeffrey Centre, Shepparton

• 28 May at Wangaratta.

All those invited are encouraged to take part in these next gatherings as the Diocese continues to listen, learn, and build together.
