To encourage a greater appreciation of Creation, a deeper understanding of our responsibility for its care and commitment to action in the Sandhurst Diocese, Bishop Shane Mackinlay has endorsed the first Sandhurst Diocese ‘Care for Creation’ Statement. pdf Download Bishop Shane's letter here (108 KB) .

The Statement, completed in 2020, was prepared at the request of the Sandhurst Diocese Adult Faith Education Reference Group by a working group whose members are: Sr Cecilia Merrigan (Chair), Kerry Stone (Sandhurst Caritas/Justice incorporating Catholic Earthcare), Kylie Smith (Catholic Education Sandhurst) and Lyn Breen (Adult Faith Education Sandhurst).

The Statement is supported by key quotations and photographs, many taken in regions of our own Diocese.

SANDHURST ‘CARE FOR CREATION’ STATEMENT

The Statement is available in a variety of formats -
•  pdf plain text format (1.78 MB) and a pdf presentation booklet (5.96 MB) , which can be read online and/or printed for those who prefer hard copy.
• a set of four slide shows (2-4 minutes) which present the ‘Care for Creation’ Statement in 4 sections, followed by reflection questions and prayer.
• a slide show which presents the full statement with reflection questions and prayer
• in addition there is a slide show for parish teams focussing on, ‘What can we do?’
