St Brendan’s puts Compassion into Action with Rice Donation

Parishioners at St Brendan’s Shepparton have donated 580 kilograms of rice to Shepparton Foodshare, delivered by trailer to support local families in need.
The donation is part of Foodshare’s inaugural Great Rice Drive, which runs throughout May and aims to collect enough rice to prepare 25,000 meals for the community. One kilogram of rice provides around eight meals, meaning St Brendan’s contribution will help make more than 4,600 meals possible.

Rice is a staple for many households, but is difficult for Foodshare to source through regular donations and food rescues. That makes community support like this both timely and deeply appreciated.

Thanks to St Brendan’s, thousands of meals are now on the table for those doing it tough across the Shepparton region.
