During the diocesan-wide preparation and consultation that led to the establishment of the Sandhurst Mission and Pastoral Council, one message came through loud and clear: the People of God wanted more opportunities for formation – to grow in faith, deepen their understanding, and walk more confidently as disciples of Jesus.

In response, the Sandhurst Strategic Mission and Pastoral Goals were promulgated with three goals under the strategic direction "life giving and empowering formation". To assist in achieving the goals we are pleased to release the new Diocesan Formation Support Plan.

Developed in consultation with the Council of Priests and the Sandhurst Mission and Pastoral Council, the Formation Support Plan outlines ten practical projects which will commence in the next two years.   As Pope Francis reminded us, missionary disciples are not born, they are formed (Evangelii Gaudium nn.160-173).
