The community of St Mary’s Primary School Mooroopna came together on Monday, 23 February to celebrate a significant milestone — 90 years of Catholic education in Mooroopna.
The day began with a memorable liturgy; students, staff and community members gathered in gratitude for the vision and dedication of the school’s founders. The celebration honoured the generations of families who have contributed to the rich history of St Mary’s while also looking ahead with hope to the future.
Throughout the day, students participated in a range of fun activity rotations designed to build House spirit, and deepen their understanding of the school’s story. Morning tea featured beautifully prepared House cakes, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Families and community members joined students and staff for a celebratory BBQ lunch, creating a wonderful opportunity to reconnect and share in the milestone event. Special thanks were extended to community members who attended for their generous support with the lunchtime BBQ.
Staff were acknowledged for their significant efforts in preparing for the day and ensuring the celebration was both meaningful and enjoyable for all involved.
The 90th anniversary celebration was a joyful reflection on the past and a confident step towards the future for St Mary’s School and its community.
